Hi there,

This is the first post on this forum. My username is little-raven. My name is Brenden. I designed and put together Vancouver Gathers forum website.

My goals are basically to uphold collective interests and to enable people to communicate toward such goals. I know that certain “social media” platforms are becoming less interesting to use as they more overtly commercialize and monetize our lives.

I think that to recognize the need for a just transition acknowledges the ongoing existence of historical injustices. I do not want to monetize this site. I do not want to meet the trends. I do not want to profit from networking. I will point out, because it’s my opinion, that financial profits have lost all meaning and relevance where they connect directly and indirectly to real ecological and social losses.

There are no corporate or private affiliations on VancouverGathers.ca
No one put me up to it. At this point I do not need funding to host this space. I want to provide it for locals to talk.
